Last weekend, we had a blast competing at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta! Hosted by the wonderful Columbia Yacht Club, the Huskers raced hard to finish 9th of 11 Tartan 10s. Special thanks to Steve and Kate of the mighty Thunderbolt!

After a W over Northern Illinois in football, 6 brave UNL sailors went down to Kansas to get some practice on a Tartan 10 before heading to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta at Columbia YC in Chicago! Looking forward to racing hard this weekend on Lake Michigan!

Over the weekend, the UNL Sailing Club traveled to Perry Yacht Club to compete in the Big 12 Invitational Regatta hosted by the KU Sailing Team. We competed against teams from the University of Kansas, Kansas State, and the University of Colorado. Chase and Macy brought home some hardware by finishing 2nd in their division! Perry Lake gave us the full spectrum of sailing conditions from very light and shifty wind on Saturday to heavy wind peaking at 26 knots on Sunday. Thanks to Perry Yacht Club, KU Sailing Team, and the other competitors for a great weekend!

The club was all suited up today for the water!
We sailed Snipe's today from the Lincoln Sailing Club.
The winds were both light and medium at times, which was great for some beginner sailors to learn the ropes.
We are preparing to get the c420 boats up and sailing this week!

The UNL Sailing Club is super excited about their new fleet of c420 sailboats, which were generously donated by the San Diego Yacht Club!
Thank you to Aimee, Eric, Jeff, John, and Bryan from the SDYC for coordinating everything on their side. Also, Adam at Zim Sailing for appraisal. Big thanks to Rico and Rick for transporting these boats safely.
We really appreciate the Lincoln Sailing Club for its constant help and guidance throughout the years and many more to come! Thanks, John and Mary Buckley for all your hard work.
