A story of hope, strength, and balance
If you are going to boast then it had better be about someone else. Let me tell you a story.
After 4 ½ years plagued with minimal running, pain and cancelled races. I was discouraged. I wanted to give up running all together and I think I would have if Erin my Pilates instructor/physical therapist/friend would have given up on me. But she didn’t so I didn’t either. We lived and worked with hope. Running requires balanced strong muscles; something I was lacking until I started reformer Pilates. Reformer Pilates strengthens the core so that my muscles could work in unison but it also corrected my strength imbalances. Last month I ran a team race called Market 2 Market; At the finish line I was humbled and ecstatic. Each leg I ran, I felt strong, pain free and fast – the fastest I have ever run. Erin told me “I think you are back” and I agree. I am grateful to my friends at Peak Pilates and Peak Physical Therapy for giving me HOPE and STRONG BALANCED muscles so that I can continue to do what I love to do…RUN and RUN fast.
