Long ago, I was told that due to my own health issues I it would be highly unlikely for me to get pregnant....much less carry and deliver. In September of 2006, after eight years of battling the crazy dating scene...I wet on eharmony and made a profile during their promotional free weekend. I met a sweet guy on there who already had kids (which was fine for obvious reasons)! Well, that fateful wee
kend is now in the history books. We met for our first date about 2 months later. A kind and thoughtful guy who was super proud of his four kids...yes, four! (aged 9, 8, 5 and 1 at the time) we got engaged and were married within six months. We came home from our honeymoon on Mother's Day in 2007 and boy oh boy...I was a mom times four. Within two weeks, my husband: Jimmy, was driving halfway across the country to star our new life in Arkansas. (in the middle of tornado season) The kids and I stayed with my parents for seven weeks so that the kiddos would have some extra time with relatives. We have been in Arkansas since 2007 and mat some amazing people. At 37, I had some sort of mid life crisis and had an epiphany....I needed to play full contact football...you read that correctly....full contact women's football. What an experience....I have never--even for an istance---been athletic===at all! It was fun, but I was definitely too old and out of shape! Needless to say, God had a plan. The week after our last home game, I got pregnant! yes, I told everyone and even shouted from the rooftop when I could! What a testimony, Man said no but the Almighty said: I'm in charge and will do what I choose! After a difficult pregnancy full of high blood pressure and lots of bed rest...we fell in love all over again on Pi Day (3-14 for non math people) of 2013, our sweet baby girl was born in what had to be the easiest labor in history....two, yes only TWO pushes and she was here. We have had two years of good check ups and great progress. SG hit all the major milestones in a timely manner...but that may be because she had four others that she felt the need to keep up with. Sweet SG captures the heart of everyone she meets. We always thought that she had the cutest little "hop along Cassidy" walk...yes, well, as cute as it is/was---it really wasn't. A great and observant person at church asked me a couple of months ago if Sadie Grace had ever been checked for any hip displacement issues. I had never even thought to ask...much less go to a specialist. I talked to our family physician and he sent us...thinking as we did, that it was something she would outgrow. Amazingly we were seen in the ortho specialist within a week...which our life changed in one long and crazy afternoon...we had a diagnosis, x-rays and a surgery date.
