I spent years stacking wins and wondering why I still felt hollow.
New car. Six figures. Another credential. I kept thinking the next thing would be the one that finally made me feel settled. It never was.
And now there's a whole industry built around that exact wound.
Looksmaxxing, if you haven't heard the term, it's men optimizing their faces, their jawlines, their bone structure. Supplements, procedures, entire subreddits dedicated to it. The beauty industry spent decades selling women the message that they weren't enough as-is. Now men are getting the same pitch, and we're buying it.
I get it. I really do. Because I lived the logic underneath it: if I can just fix enough things on the outside, maybe I'll finally feel okay on the inside.
It doesn't work. Not because there's anything wrong with wanting to look good. But because the hole isn't out there.
The armor that helped me build my career and keep everyone comfortable and look like I had it together, that same armor was blocking joy, connection, everything I actually wanted. I wasn't emotionless. I was exhausted. There's a difference.
The shift that changed things for me wasn't becoming less strong. It was becoming strong enough that I didn't need the armor all the time.
That's a harder sell than a jawline supplement. But it's the one that actually works.
If any part of this lands, I'd genuinely love to hear what it brings up for you. Drop a comment or send me a message.
