I just got a call from a "Computer support" scammer. You know, the ones that say your computer is broken and try to get you to give them remote access so they can install viruses or steal personal info? Yeah...they called me on my work number...Your PC Repair Guy. Silly scammers.
Pro Tip: No one from "Microsoft Support" or the "Computer Help Desk" will ever call you directly. It is a scam. Just hang up on them!

Some are recent broken machines, most are from my collection over the past 10 years. Time to clean house.

It must be Broken Laptop Season. Currently in my shop I have two laptops with broken screens, one with broken wireless, and one with a broken power switch.

It's the new year...time for a PC upgrade!

Lots of new customers this week. I guess the hot weather leads to more time indoors which leads to more computer time which leads to more broken PCs. Should I use this knowledge for good or for evil? Bwa ha ha!! :)

If I can offer one piece of computer advice: Please back-up your important files (pictures, music, etc.) to an external source! I just helped a poor woman recover 10 years worth of pictures from a damaged harddrive. Luckily I was able to help...but most often if the harddrive fails they will be gone forever. Don't let it happen to you! Burn them to disks, save them to flash drives, get an external harddrive, just make sure you have them saved somewhere other than your main computer.
