I’m thrilled to be returning to Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming for the Women’s Unbridled Retreat!

Join me September 20-23, 2026 for four transformative days of horses, self-care, and sisterhood.

This retreat is designed for women ready to step into their power and reconnect with their joy.

During the retreat, you will:

✅ Create a clear vision and plan for your next chapter
✅ Experience the healing power of horses
✅ Gain clarity and support to get unstuck
✅ Build confidence both on the ground and in the saddle
✅ Make lasting friendships and have fun
✅ Enjoy true self-care...no cleaning, cooking, or caretaking for four days.

This retreat is not the ideal fit for women who:

-Are only seeking a horseback riding vacation

-Prefer to stay in their comfort zone
-Avoid connecting with new people
-Are seeking therapy for a mental health condition (this retreat uses Equine Coaching, a life coaching model)

Here's what past participants have said:

"This was the most amazing thing I have ever done." - Carol

"I came alone to this retreat, but I left profoundly connected: to a sisterhood of formidable, brave women, to the natural world, and to myself. To say I am grateful hardly scratches the surface of an experience I will never forget." - Beth

"Unbridled created such a safe space. I showed up on day 1 with a concrete wall up and left on the last day with that wall gone and a sisterhood of amazing women. The retreat exceeded all expectations and am forever grateful for the experience." - Diane

"It was an extraordinary, enlightening, tight-bonding experience that I will hold for the rest of my life." - Sandy

There’s forest bathing, then there’s ranch bathing…this is my pre-retreat ritual that helps me get centered 🌱

When I take time to fill my cup, I show up better for everyone around me.

Out here in a cow loafing shed on a beautiful Colorado day, taking a moment to recharge and be in nature. This is what helps me give more and stay grounded.

If you’ve been running on empty, this is your reminder to take a moment for yourself too 🫶

Saturday morning vibes. ☕️🖊️🐾

I love starting my day with a cup of coffee, journaling, and staring at my purrrfect cat, Charley.

I sit with my journal open for up to 10 mins before I actually write anything. My mind likes to wander, stare off, ponder, and slowly come online while my half-caff coffee kicks in.

Then I write the date on the top of the page and I recall that it's my mom's bday, (which I knew in my mental files because I'm celebrating with her later today), but writing the date down makes it spring to life and inspires my pen to keep moving.

"Happy Birthday Mom! How old is she? I'm 42, so she must be 73...."

And the journaling begins...

I love journaling, it grounds me, helps me metabolize my life, and gives me a place (and page) to download, unload, and dump my thoughts. I've been journaling for 25 years consistently (about 5-6 mornings a week) and it's a routine I savor and look forward to.

Any other journalers out there?

If you're wanting to get into it more or stay consistent, I highly recommend having a great pen and an awesome journal you love. I swoon over my current leather-bound journal, it feels like a saddle and makes me excited to use it! Something else that helps is playing gentle background music without lyrics...my go-to is instrumental piano jazz. 🎶

Are you an ambivert, introvert, or extrovert?

I'm an ambivert which by definition "is a person having characteristics of both extrovert and introvert" - Merriam-Webster. I do best when my energy is recharged with a blend of social time and solo time.

Yesterday I got my social fix from attending my niece's 2-year-old birthday party plus playing pickleball for 2.5 hours with friends. I started out at the birthday party for about 45 minutes, chatting with family and extended family and having quick, mini catch ups with as many people as I could, "How are you? Great to see you!" The highlight was my brother-in-law surprising the kids wearing a Cabybara costume and dancing to the "Cabybara" song while the little ones squealed in delight and danced and jumped around him. It was a total hit and super fun, for the adults too...I'll speak for myself, it got me dancing! I was feeling social, energized, and ready to bounce to the next social get together in my day.

Then I drove to meet 3 friends at Moodswing, a new social hub in Denver that has pickleball, food, and music playing. The place was buzzing with people and we had a 2-hour reservation on the outdoor courts.

I do particularly well for a max of about 2 hours when social time includes a physical activity. Pickleball is a great mix of movement and teamwork with some fun banter sprinkled in. It's being "on" in a fun, social, and active way.

After playing for 2 hours, we found out no one reserved the court after us, so we pushed into one more game which brought us to 2.5 hours of pickleball and being social. My ambivert side was beat and my brain was tired. I played my worst game, no surprise. Afterwards the group wanted to sit and eat by the courts. I sat with them for a few minutes and they are good conversationalists but I had nothing to contribute except a blank stare. My social battery was on empty and it was time for me to recharge alone. My introverted side told me it was time to go home. My voice said, "Hey guys, it's time for me to head out. I'm beat. Goodnight!"

Five years ago I would have forced myself to stay with them and "be polite and nice" and sit with them through dinner even though I was exhausted. Now I have good energy boundaries and knowing I'm an ambivert helps me give myself permission to peace out when I need to. So I did. And it felt good...there was no apology or justification needed. No one cared, got mad, or pushed back on my decision (old fears about what could happen).

So I proceeded to drive home while playing mellow jazz music. I picked up a rotisserie chicken and cookies at the grocery store, got into my pajamas, made an easy salad, snuggled with my cat, and watched Little House on the Prairie reruns while dipping cookies in milk before going to bed at 9pm. My perfect way to recharge my battery....soothing, low stimulation that rocks me like a lullaby back to a centered state and requires no social output.

Are you an ambivert, extrovert (generally recharge by being social and around groups) or introvert (primarily recharge with alone time or 1:1 time with others)? Emphasis on the word "recharge"...it's all about how you recharge your energy.
