Here’s what nobody wants to hear: you can buy a lesson, but you can’t buy grit. You can buy a bat, but you can’t buy hustle. You can buy a showcase spot, but you can’t buy character.

Baseball doesn’t care what’s in your garage. It cares what’s in your gut.

Build the kid before you build the ballplayer. The rest takes care of itself.

If a coach tells your 8yr old they need to focus on one sport.... run away... young kids don't need to specialize in just one sport they need to play them all

I watched a coach slam his glove against the fence at an 8U all star game recently. Because they lost. Just because they lost.

You can call that passion. We both know it’s not.

You can be passionate about the game and not act like a moron. As a coach, you ARE the example. So when your kid sees a grown man throwing gloves and stomping his feet like a toddler who didn’t get his way what exactly is that teaching him?

Not the ump flinched. His own players did. Eight year olds.

If he can’t handle a missed call at 8U, he’s not going to find composure when your kid actually blows a big moment. He’s going to blow up bigger, louder, closer to your kid’s face.

Youth baseball has an overcoaching problem.

Every young hitter doesn’t need a bunch of changes to their swings

This 7 year old has balance, rotation, and athletic movement. I’d make one or two minor adjustments and then let him keep competing.
