A ribbon cutting for our new Monarch Interpretive signs on display at the I-35 gardens will be held on Saturday, October 2nd. Hill County 10 am - Bell County 2 pm The I-35 Waystations are four large demonstration gardens at safety rest areas that showcase our organization and Texas native plants to the world of travelers.
The fee portion ($30 members, $40 non-members) of our fall symposium consists of eleven virtual presentations and five virtual field trips. The line-up is varied and exceptional. There is so much to learn and enjoy in these events! It starts on Wednesday evening, October 6th with a presentation given by Ricky Linex, our President-Elect.
The Annual Meeting of Members on Friday October 8th will entertain with a review of the year and leadership, announcements of incoming officers, highlights of state committees, lists of all grant and scholarship awardees with speeches by some, honors to members who have passed, and previews of all the photo contest entries. The Annual Awards and Contests Presentation on Saturday, October 9th is a fun and exciting event! You will get to meet and hear the stories of extraordinary people from all over Texas who have done amazing things that in some way, shape or form, support our mission. The evening includes announcing our photo, newsletter and video contest winners. The finale will be the recognition of the Chapter of the Year! Best of all, these two meetings and a program review presentation on Saturday morning, October 9th, are free and open to the public. They will be broadcast live on our NPSOT YouTube Channel.
On the final day, October 10th, Chapters around the state will offer variety of in-person events such as field trips and plant sales to celebrate conservation and community.
