I would definitely re-join Ketchum if they did a bit more to promote racquetball or even make a group page for it like this - https://www.facebook.com/groups/165415340220634

Without knowing if I'll be able to find some regular players it's hard for me to justify opening the membership.

For #DTLA families, here is a great event sponsored by Councilmember, Kevin de León and Ketchum-Downtown YMCA to kick off the Halloween season.
Ketchum-Downtown YMCA is hosting a Halloween party this Friday, October 29th complete with trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, family costume contest and more. Sounds like a perfect way to start your Halloween weekend!
Last Saturday, we climbed for a great cause together with 800 other participants! Most of us did the steps of Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and others decided to do a run at a local community college football field, a walk at Malibu Creek, and a hike at the Grand Canyons.

However we did the challenge, we collectively raised over $545,000 for the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA community programs which include food distribution helping families achieve post-pandemic stability, teen programs cultivating future leaders, youth sports fostering teamwork and resilience, summer camps filling children with the wonder of new experiences, and much more.

It was such an honor! Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers and participants for such a wonderful event. Until next year!

#MembersintheNews: “DTLA was not empty, it was full — full of heart and full of commitment. Full of neighbors who became friends at the dog park, became allies in support of Black Lives Matter, became family at socially distanced rooftop dinners.” - Carol Pfannkuche, Executive Director, Ketchum-Downtown YMCA

It’s December 1st - World AIDS Day - and the start of HIV/AIDS Awareness Month. This month is dedicated to those we’ve lost and to help those living with HIV/AIDS. It is also a call to action to help end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

There are four pillars to ending the epidemic:
1.) Diagnose people as early as possible
2.) Treat people rapidly and effectively
3.) Prevent new HIV transmissions
4.) Respond quickly to HIV outbreaks

To better understand, and get involved in, ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic, visit: www.hiv.gov.
