The Soul Sutras

The night when the stars kiss the earth and light up every corner of my home and heart is Diwali. My childhood memories come alive in the sweets, the sparklers, the crackers, the continuous flow of friends and family amongst generous hugs and laughter. The puja, the chants and the blessings of Goddess sought the night turns to dawn, and the stars guide themselves back to the sky as the wicks of the clay diyas start to wane. Now, as I try to recreate memories with my children on Diwali, my heart is full as I reminisce with silent yearning of my childhood and joy of a spiritual night to illuminate our souls.
So, this Diwali I pray light reaches everyone and mends everything that may be broken inside us - relationships, friendships and reunite us as people together. May this Diwali put us at ease and bring joy, kindness, health to you. May all the diyas and lamps shine bright.
