Beginning my morning with inversions helps my blood circulation and boosts my energy. When I first started as a yogi, I was unsure of ever being able to do a headstand for fear of falling or allowing myself to be this vulnerable. In under 6 months, after tons of core building in my practice, away from the aid of the wall as support, I could confidentially invert my body. I felt so impressed with how fear not only works in our interpersonal relationships but even the relationships with our own movements. Maybe starting small, deep within ourselves, removes fear of everything outside that we cannot control. Yoga imparts, if not just indomitable strength, endurance of mind and body. Shed that fear and allow yourself to do wonderful things.

Even as someone who does Yoga regularly, feeling a struggle is common. It’s because the body likes to revert to a stiff & closed position and yoga literally fights this death. It fights the compacting and rigidity of self so that one is free, light & closer to a divine nirvana. Imagine how this permeates not only into your form but into your behaviors over time. A fluid extension of humility and graciousness.
