STAY WORKING | Nearing the end of the week makes it tougher to stay consistent with training. Work gets us exhausted, the body is run down, the mind is overworked. But what we don’t realize is that training helps us to wind down, de-stress, and clear our minds. Everyday we are improving not only in jiu jitsu, but as people. Let’s stay working.

With a good understanding of control from this position opens up a massive amount of attacking opportunities. While it is a difficult position to obtain, especially on skilled opponents, having the clear direction of where we are trying to get too is what helps you develop your skills much faster.

POSITION BEFORE SUBMISSION: This is a common phrase in jiu jitsu, yet the reason behind this has some faults to it. The idea of attacking before establishing dominant positions comes with the notion that if the attack fails, you compromise your position and potentially end up in dangerous defensive situations.
•
However, our focus is about creating an incredibly solid defensive foundation that gives our students the confidence to attack from anywhere. Jiu jitsu was developed around defense first and has since lost that value. We ensure our students are confident in there ability to escape all potentially dangerous positions, therefore giving them the freedom for unlimited attacks.

Last nights 10 round Tuesday was solid. 80 minutes of straight sparring with 30 seconds rest between each round. Happy to get some training in with our good friend @i.am.illustrations thanks for stopping by.

PROMOTION NIGHT | Our first annual holiday party and promotion night is finally in the books. It was a packed house and a great night of fights, fun, friends, and family. We had 4 of our students level up and earn their new ranks in jiu jitsu. It goes without saying, this is a huge achievement for these four. The amount of time, dedication, and perseverance it takes to move up in jiu jitsu, is far more substantial than most are willing to put into learning any new skill. There is so much knowledge to be gained about the art of jiu jitsu, but more importantly, it’s what you learn about yourself that carries further. How do you handle pressure? How hard are you willing to push yourself? Can I leave my ego behind me? The mats don’t lie, and these questions will be answered. I am very proud of everyone that moved up tonight, and hope that it is understood, that we must now work harder than before.

NEW SCHEDULE!! | Now that we have added our Kids Program, here is the new full schedule. Minor changes to adult classes, but now we have 6am training everyday of the week!
