This time of year can be one full of joy and celebration AND it can also be one where some of us may feel triggered, sad and alone. No matter what side you fall on, your emotions are valid and deserve to be recognized. 💛🧡🤎⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If feeling triggered, anxious or sad know that you have support. Talking through your emotions and making a game plan by coping ahead can be a huge help with managing these feelings. Below are some steps on how to successfully cope ahead so you can walk into any situation with more confidence and power. 💛🧡🤎⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Imagine & describe the situation (what do you anticipate happening based of your history with similar events?)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sunday Scaries?! Here are some ways to help manage your stress this week.
🎧 pick your favorite album / song and grab those headphones!
👟 move your body, in anyway that feels good for you. This could be a walk, run, workout class, yoga, etc.
🕯 diffuse your favorite essential oil or light a candle. Using your sense of smell can help calm the mind
📔 self affirmations. Write an affirmation and repeat it to yourself throughout the day to help stay grounded.

This thought came to me at 2am last night when I woke up with my mind racing. I’m glad I quickly wrote it down.
Taking care of your needs and listening to your gut isn’t selfish. It’s a way for you to gain confidence and feel in control of your life. If you have something you’re afraid of pursuing, I want you to go back to this quote. To remind yourself that you are worthy and deserving of the world that you want to create for yourself. Never give up 💕

With the fall in full swing it's a great time to focus on ways to give back to yourself this season. As a fellow people pleaser, this time of year always brought up anxiety for me. Planning for the holidays, traveling, gifts, baking, the list goes on. If you are anything like I was this can be depleting, especially when you aren't prioritizing yourself first. Below are some tips to help you ease into the holiday season with a sense of power and control!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📅 Make a calendar and write out our plans ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📱 If you aren’t sure of your exact plans, talk to your partner, friends, and family (whoever you want to see. Start making those dates official!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✈️ Mark what type of travel it is. Car? Plane? Guests coming to you?!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🥧 Write out what you can handle given your schedule. If you plan on baking, set a day where you have extra designated time - not on a day where you have back to back work calls)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰 Finalize a budget and stick with it! This is where setting boundaries with others and yourself comes in to play!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🗣 Be clear with your expectations. Be gentle with yourself when saying “no” to thing that may cause you stress and make you go over your budget ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️ Self care - pick at least one way to care for yourself. Whether that’s journaling, meditating, moving your body or just finding a show to watch that makes you smile - make time for it!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When you are having a hard time mentally and feel exhausted, overwhelmed and anxious, it’s okay to take a break. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When you are going to social events, traveling and seeing friends, it’s okay to take a break. You don’t need permission to take time for yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Earlier this week I was exhausted, both mentally and physically. It was hard for me to find motivation to do anything and I sat with it. I turned to my support system, talked through the negative feelings I was experiencing and woke up the next day feeling a little less tired and a little more motivated. Each day I felt a little more like myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Take the time you need for yourself, reach out to people who you trust and love and focus on one thing you can do each day (big or small). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
