In our COMMUNITY BIRTH DOULA TRAINING that concluded last week, participants learned about the ugly history of medical experimentation on enslaved black women, and how black women have the highest rates of maternal death in the United States today. They left with knowledge and skills to advocate for pregnant women and work to end patriarchy and racism in maternity care and end locally and globally. Today at the COMMUNITY BIRTH DOULA TRAINING we learned all about supporting breastfeeding. From the A & P of how the breasts make milk, to supporting moms to get started, today's class was fun and enlightening.

Soon these dedicated, loving women will deployed to help pregnant women and new moms and newborns with breastfeeding and childbirth companionship.
