Marvin Smitty Smith – Drum Solos 2015

Marvin Smith was born in Waukegan, Illinois, where his father, Marvin Sr., was a drummer. As a result, "Smitty," was exposed to music at a young age, receiving formal musical training at the age of three.

Marvin Smitty Smith has recorded 200 albums with various artists, as well as two solo albums.[3] He also has toured with Sting, Dave Holland, Sonny Rollins, Willie Nelson and with Steve Coleman.[3] He is a former member of The New York Jazz Quartet,[1] and Drummer under fellow Berklee alum and Musical Director, Kevin Eubanks, for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Guess what! He will be performing at this years #CentralAveJazz Festival providing you all the energy, soul and jazz during his performance. He is ready to give it all and leave it all on stage this year along #CentralAvenue.

Bobby Matos And His Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble Llegue

New York born and bred, percussionist, composer/ arranger and bandleader #BobbyMatos has dedicated his life to playing and spreading the best #AfroLatinJazz he can. He is a veteran of many tours and recordings and has played with such stars as Bobby Hutcherson, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Miriam Makeba, Jack Costanzo, Dave Pike, Pucho & the Latin Soul Bros., Ralph Irrazarry, Larry Harlow, Celia Cruz, Eric Gale, and others.

Its that time of the year again, so make sure you SAVE the DATE!!! July 30-31 #CentralAvenue will be celebrating its 21st Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival! Some of you missed it last year and a lot of you can't wait for this year, so make sure you join District Office of Councilmember Curren D. Price Jr., #SouthLA, and the rest of the city as we celebrate the biggest festival that happens east of the 110 fwy in South Los Angeles, the Central Avenue Jazz Festival.

Alfredo Rodriguez Trio - Live at the 2012 Montreux Jazz Festival "Guantanamera"

The #AlfredoRodriguezTrio will be another performer at this years #CentralAvenueJazzFestival2015!

Born in Havana, Cuba (Coño!), this Cuban jazz pianist was trained at Manuel Samuell Conservatory and music producer Quincy Jones noticed Alfredo at a #JazzFestival and began working with him.

Alfredo has played at the #PlayboyJazzFestival, Detroit Jazz Festival, San Francisco Jazz Festival and now he will take the stage at the #CentralAvenueJazzFestival along Central Avenue where #LAJazz began.
