Our directing approach to the film was to bring a narrative feel to the documentary form by filming cinematic, visceral imagery that emphasizes journey and intimacy, while exploring real human truths.

We love stories that are not black and white. We are equally excited to portray a complicated, nuanced female hero. It’s important to get people talking about big questions and challenge each other to examine our beliefs.

Fox's interview shows her as a human being, not just a talking head. There are moments of awkwardness, vulnerability, and emotion, that connect to the audience and reveal a deeper story.

Thanks for engaging with A FIELD BETWEEN and this series. We hope the film will create a real dialogue about a non violent approach to resolving conflict. Human stories like Fox’s not only illuminate the personal toll of war, but also show how each of us is capable of taking a stand and enacting change.
