Stay Away From Bad Habits That Jeopardizes Your Metabolism
*Skipping Breakfast—eating a well-balanced breakfast is always a good way to start your day, because your metabolism slows down while you sleep and breakfast fires it up.
*Eating the wrong Breakfast—sugary donut or a muffin does not count as a good way to start up your day, yogurt, berries, peanut or almond butter with whole wheat toast is a great example.
*Sitting too much--we all got caught up with our Netflix and old shows we wanted to watch, it is time to move around because again as we slow down or sit too long, our metabolism suffers.
*Not doing strength training--having said that sitting too much is not good, then the next best thing is to get moving, although walking is a great idea, we must add strength training to our workout routine…. And if I have not seen you Zooming with me at least 3-4 times a week, what are you waiting for? An invitation? You got the link, log in and JUST DO IT.
*Not getting enough protein----when you workout, (hint….ZOOM with us) you must consume protein to feed your muscles, build your muscles and maintain muscle mass, not enough protein decreases your metabolism.
*Not getting enough sleep--- one night is OK, but too many nights of not sleeping enough decreases your metabolism and hormonal imbalances may follow.
*Not drinking enough water--- yes it is colder now and we may not be as active since we are confined to our homes, but drinking 2 cups of water increases metabolic rate by 30% for about an hour, so keep drinking water every hour or at least every two hours.
*Stressing out--When stress levels increase, your body produces a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol leads to increased appetite, makes us crave comfort foods, decreases our desire to exercise and reduces sleep quality — all things that negatively impact metabolism. So, while you can’t always control your stress levels, managing stress can go a long way toward protecting your body’s internal fire.
Lastly, please take good care of yourself and your loved ones. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Be patient and kind. There is no better time to strengthen our bonds, to stand together (digitally), to help each other through this storm, and come out the other side stronger.

Thanks Kobi!!! I crushed my 9 mile run this morning! 12-min miles. I reached my goal sooner than expected. Maybe I can get to 11 by the marathon. Keep pushing me to work those quads and do that jump rope (which I hate).
