This shoot was birthed during a moment of crisis and grief. My grandfather passed this past Sunday and will sadly never get to see my son come earth side.

It was difficult to muster the energy to photograph what is supposed to be a happy moment for me and my partner but I’m so glad I did. I know my abuelito would have wanted us to celebrate our son in every way possible.

The one thing that keeps me grounded is the knowledge that my son will be full of grandfather fire’s energy, which is very appropriate for my soon to be Aries baby.

Even familiars get a day off. Salem has been my constant companion these last couple of months as I transition from maiden to mother.

So thankful to my family and friends for hosting such an amazing baby shower to celebrate our growing family.

So happy to have gained such a wonderful extension to my family and grateful to them for making today so special. Can’t wait to celebrate again later this month with the rest of my family.

these past 6 months have been the most intense and life altering but at the end of it I have learned to embrace the chaos and let Spirit guide me to where I need to go ✨
