Jackie Robinson’s career was never easy. Though he won MLB Rookie of the Year in 1947, he was widely despised, even hated, just for the color of his skin. It wasn’t until 1949 that #42 won NL MVP that people began to see him for the baseball legend that he was, a year where he also played in his first All-Star game, was the NL batting champion, and also the NL stolen base leader.

Robinson retired in 1956, but it wasn’t until 1997 that his number was retired by every team in the league, an enormous precedent that is still respected to this day.

In fact, 40% of retired athletes end up in small business, entrepreneurial, and sales roles!

“Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up.”

Who else loves the Rocky movies??

Even though Stallone wasn’t a real superstar boxer, his character’s words ring true. Every champion was once just a person who refused to give up, which means every retired athlete was once that same kind of person.

When you retire, you’re not giving up. You’re just using your incredible abilities in new ways!

Retired From Sports can help you use your retirement as motivation and fuel for a new life and career, but only if you refuse to give up!

“I really think a champion is defined not by their wins, but how they can recover when they fall.” – Serena Williams

Some days we win championships, and some days we hit our lowest low. Being an athlete isn’t all wins, and sometimes you have to be prepared to handle those losses with grace.

At Retired From Sports, we believe that being prepared for anything is the best thing you can do for yourself and your career. We all retire at some point, but knowing how to conquer our retirement, rather than just letting it happen to us, is what truly defines a champion.

How will you recover when you fall?
