Panhandle Cloggers
PANHANDLE CLOGGERS has been retired. No longer active.
Hoping we can get back on the clogging floor, together, soon. Andy Howard has set up a virtual clogging page on You tube featuring Florida clogging instructors on Sunday and Wednesday nights . Burt will be one of the featured instructors on Wednesday night, May 20th at 7pm. You can search Florida cloggers on You tube to find the site. If you have trouble finding it, just let s know.
Miss all of you folks. Hoping this is coming to an end and we can get back on the floor clogging again, soon. We will let you know as soon as we hear the City buildings have reopened.
A note to let everyone know that the City Recreation Department is closing their facilities for 2 weeks (March 16 - March 29). We are glad to comply and hope to see you on the floor again April 3rd. Thanks for your understanding..

Had a good crowd at the Reunion last night, around 45 folks showed up. Burt did an excellent job on the program having us do some of the oldies like Ole Time Rock & Roll by Kevin Sellew and some of the newer ones we picked up at workshops like Fontana Village in NC. and The Sautee Stomp in Helen, Ga. Marie did an outstanding job, as usual, making the place look pretty and all the other things she does. The energy was high all night and I think every one left a little tired and knowing they had enjoyed the fun filled night. If they left hungry, it was their own fault. The food brought by the dancers was outstanding. It was a great night to see and visit with some friends we met as many as 38 years ago as well as the ones that still support the club each week. I got to chat with grown ladies and gentlemen that I met when they were just "kids". Was such a fun filled night for me and humbled me to think of the people we have touched over the years by bringing them into the clogging we love. I so appreciate all of you coming to the reunion and the ones that wanted to but couldn't. Thank you for making it a night to remember.
Had a good time at Panhandle last night. Panhandle Cloggers was formed as a "Clog for fun" club in August of 1982 and we still have a few of the origial members dancing with us. So, we are going to have a "Clogging Family Reunion". It will be on May 3rd from 6 to 8 and we are really hoping to see some of the ole family we haven't seen in years. If you are reading this and danced with us at one time or another or know someone that danced with us, please invite them and all of you plan on coming out to visit, share an old story or two and look at some of the pictures that Marie and I have saved over the years. More details later..
Club is doing well, still small but the love for clogging is always high. Two weeks ago Burt taught one of Andy Howard's fine routines "I'll be Gone" and last night the group was introduced to "Rural Route". We hope to have a special guest visiting next week. Kay Trimm, the "Nucleus of Birmingham Clogging" and her husband Mark will be visiting and we hope she will bring a fun dance to teach.
This Friday will be Panhandle's Christmas party. Would like to invite any of you guys that used to clog in the Pensacola area to drop by for a visit. Merry Christmas and may God Bless.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Short note to let everyone know that the City has booked our building for this Friday so we will cancel clogging this week, the 30th. Hope to see everyone back next week.
