Pu'uwai Danza

. In May 2000, she joined Ballet Folklorico Guadalajara in which, as a professional dancer, she toured around her State. She also had a chance to learn all about the show business: rehearsals, trainings, costume making, producing, and managing a group. As part of a professional dance company, she decided to open her own dance academy, Pu’uwai, in Guadalajara in June 2004. After only 2 years, she moves to Mexicali and continued getting prepared as a Polynesian dancer in a very prestigious dance school: Tapairu. There, she became part of the staff to teach and help with the production of the recitals offered twice a year. After moving to Los Angeles, she volunteered at Weingart East L.A. YMCA with a Hula and Ori Dance class. Her class performed on the entertainment stage at the 5K Boyle Heights Run. She was also invited to participate in the Lotus Festival dancing Hula two consecutive years. Nowadays she is sharing her passion at Arte Flamenco Dance Theater in Alhambra. Where she teaches Hula and Folklorico. She has participated in various events representing the school. She continues her preparation taking seminars with teachers from Hawai’i and Tahiti. She has taken classes with Kumu Hula Rae Kahikilaulani Fonseca, Kumu Hula Okima Kapaku, Makau Foster, Moena Maiotui, and Nonosina.
