A glimpse of our performance from the 66th Annual L.A. County Holiday Celebration ✨
This piece is danced to Lamban, a traditional West African rhythm from Guinea often associated with joy, celebration, and unity within the community. Lamban invites us to move with confidence and shared purpose. A beautiful reflection of Imani, the final principle of Kwanzaa, which calls on us to have faith in ourselves, our people, and our collective future.
Through rhythm and movement, we honor tradition, resilience, and belief. 🖤🥁

Today we honor the second day of Kwanzaa: Kujichagulia ✨
Kujichagulia means self-determination. The power to define ourselves, name ourselves, and move with intention.
Our dancers embody this principle through Dundunba, a high-energy rhythm from Guinea that celebrates strength, confidence, and freedom of expression. Each movement is bold, and each step a declaration of who we are.
We dance our truth. We claim our voice.
