Have you been taking care of your body, mind & soul? ✨ Personally, I’ve done my best to not let a bad situation dictate this part of my life. I’ve started singing again - practicing daily. I finally decided to learn my language, Arabic, which is HARD! I’ve worn less makeup and taken better care of my hair... and I’ve tried to improve work/life balance... and quickly learned that I was created to work harder than your average alien. This is kinda hard for me to post because I don’t have abs for days and even getting to this point was about posing and lighting. A lot of you are aware of my history with eating disorders and my struggle with confidence... so while this isn’t a perfect picture, I’m happy with where I’m at and my progress thus far. Helping others overcome their own personal struggles with nutrition and fitness has actually saved my own life... My clients are inspirational to me. Meal prep time!
Always make sure you have a lot of color in your meal-preps. Meal prepping saves time and money! For 5 days worth of food, I spent $33. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinners!

Went in 100% on the meal prep today! Took me a little over two hours but it's worth it. This should last me for one week.
I'm usually a fan of "simple" meal preps (like chicken, rice, and one veggie) But today, I took my time and made a variety of meals with a heavy focus on moooore veggies!
Lunch: Baked chicken with baked sweet potatoes, and mixed veggies. (Veggies include red and green peppers, broccoli, and zucchini.)
Dinner: Ground turkey with roasted red tomatoes (roasted in red wine vinegar) and roasted brussel sprouts. 1/2 Avocado on the side, fresh.
Snacks are easy! Usually a fruit or nuts. And breakfast is always a green-based smoothie!

#DietTip of the day! The average avocado has about 15-21 grams of healthy fats (yes, good and healthy* fats exist!) Good & healthy fats are a major source for energy production in your body AND they help assist with the absorption of other necessary nutrients. Bonus: they contain lots of fiber, too!
Question: "How do I know which fats are good or bad?"
Answer: Check the labels or do your research! Bad fats: trans/saturated fats.. Healthy fats? Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. Make your diet easier by understanding the contents of what you're eating... not just by counting those calories!
The biggest excuse: I'm too tired and I don't have enough time.
#FitTip for the rest of your life: Prioritize your life. Work hard, find time, get enough sleep. The TV will always be there tomorrow. And take a moment to be honest - 20-40 minutes a day, 5x a week is good enough to keep you healthy. Or 45-90 minutes a day, 3/4x a week is good enough to see real change over time. Don't let your excuses stop you from getting what you really want.

Muscle imbalances are caused by everyday habits like slouching at a desk for 8 hours per day, and even mis-training and activating the wrong muscle during an exercise. But GOOD NEWS! It can be fixed :) For clients that have overactive (tight) muscles, it's really important to focus on nutrition and taking care of the body's natural processes for muscle and tissue repair... Vitamin C is one of my favorites, and can be digested through a wide variety of foods (always recommended before supplementing with pills.)

#FitTip for the weekend! Found this helpful chart and figured I'd share it with you guys! Did you know that carbs are ideal for upping your energy? A lot of people make the mistake of putting processes sugar straight into the body, which provides temporary energy-bursts. And then, the excess is stored as fat. BUT when you put healthy carbs into your body, you're using your body's natural process to provide energy.... a lot less fattening due to the digestion process.
After your workouts, protein is ideal for muscle recovery! So, if you're lifting heavy (and even if you're not), try to eat 20g-30g of protein after your workout to help recover your muscles and get back in the gym faster!
And as always, remember to hydrate yourself with water or vitamin enriched beverages (naturally sweetened)... not sugary drinks!
