It's been a really long time since I cried about the news I've had to cover. Many of you know that yoga isn't my full-time gig. I am a journalist and write regularly for major publications that vary widely. My goal, as a journalist and as a yoga teacher, however are the same: Help make the world a kinder, more compassionate, equal, and just place.
These past few weeks have been insanely difficult --on the political front, on the social justice and equality front, and once again, on violence front. America is facing down some of its darkest days thanks to the legacy of Trump, conservatives, and their hateful, violent and downright inhumane policies and beliefs. It's left me depleted, sad, angry, and afraid for my family and people I care about deeply. It's made me feel hopeless.
If you're like me and struggling to find your light, your voice or your hope, you're not alone. Last night, I taught an online class that's geared specifically towards helping you find a little bit of hope in a very dark time.

This morning I sat down with my teacher Kiely Wolters and Practice Yoga Austin to talk about my experience in the fantastic 200-hour training that they offer. I graduated almost five years ago from the training and absolutely cannot say enough about how amazing the experience was. I left the program feeling prepared to teach and, as many of you know, I still teach today, both in real life and online.

Morning vibes in preparation for live virtual yoga starting at 9:30 am PT!
Today we'll be working on releasing tightness in the hips and belly to make room to experience more joy and calm when were facing down anxiety.
This is our seventh week of working with anxiety in our bodies and progressively and intelligently working with techniques that offer relief and space to handle anxious feelings. I don't know about you, but Koha and Gusto are ready for live virtual yoga this morning.
I did a bit of redecorating in the yoga room last night with the help of my love and I'm so excited to teach this morning at 9:30am PT/ 12:30 pm ET.
We're going to be working on managing anxiety that's been lodged in our body--a focus for the next month or so.
