Tennis instructor in the San Fernando valley Welcome! My name is Matias Castro and I am 23 years of age. I have been teaching tennis for almost 5 years.

I am experienced with every level of play as well as many different age categories. I currently teach at El Caballero Country Club and have some private students of my own. I am the type of instructor that can take you to the next level of play. During my lessons not only will you get insight on how to improve your shots, but you will gain valuable match strategies that will help you beat your opponent. In doing so, I will help you strengthen one of the most fundamental muscles for a tennis player. Your BRAIN. Tennis is one of the most challenging sports out there. Not only do you need to be in great shape and know how to hit a tennis ball, but you also need to know how to beat your opponent mentally. The mental toughness of a player has become key to winning matches. In a tennis match, you could be down a set, but with the right mental attitude you could win the match. To do so, one needs to know how to use the momentum of match to one's own advantage. Great players know how to do this. For example, Tsonga in the Wimbledon Quarter Finals against Roger Federer in 2011. He was down by 2 sets and still managed to win the match. Another great example is Novak Djockovic. He managed to come back from 2 sets down in the US Open Semi Finals against Roger Federer in 2011. There many other great examples out there today because the mental game has become key.
