Full disclosure: if I hadn’t had class scheduled yesterday, and people committed to coming, there IS NO WAY I would have exercised. I was tired, hungry, had other commitments and deadlines looming, and just didn’t feel like it.

Not only did I feel great after getting my heart rate up, I felt accomplished knowing I had made progress toward my fitness goals. Yesterday was HIIT class, and I honestly had a surge of emotion feeling how much my knee has improved since surgery, and how much harder these simple exercises were for me just a few months ago.

As a Behavior Change Specialist, and with my 10 years of experience as a trainer, I know there are lots of different motivating factors and barriers to exercise consistency. THE NUMBER ONE FACTOR IN IMPROVING WORKOUT ADHERENCE IS HAVING SOMEONE TO TRAIN WITH.

That’s why I decided to create these group virtual classes - so that I actually do my core workouts, foam rolling, high intensity interval training and weight lifting every week.

Just like everyone else, if I don’t have a workout scheduled, and people to be accountable to there, I don’t get it done.

Welp, just as predicted, it all went out the window. I ate, drank, and was very, very merry. Having a hard time stopping the merriness, as usual. Why is whiskey with coffee so good??? Why make breakfast if I can have peppermint bark and sugar cookies?

Anyway, I can tell my liver is ready for a hug. That’s why I’m doing a Two-Week New Year Cleanse.

I want to kick the booze, sugar, and heavy carb-ing habits I’ve picked up in the last few weeks. I’m over having cravings for crappy food, so I am flushing my body with tons of nutrients.

Looking forward to the reduced inflammation in my face, guts and joints, losing some body fat, and the deep cleaning binge I inevitably go on when I cleanse. Also don’t mind the fact that my immune system gets fortified and longevity improved.

Tis the season for getting saucy with spiked eggnog, peppermint schnapps and bubbly. Y’all know I’m a boozer, so I’m looking forward to hot toddies, orange julius, irish coffees, choco-tinis and assorted Christmas brew.

We’ve all been there - the morning after. Headache, nausea, exhaustion, irritability…snapping at your partner, kids, parents, or unsuspecting neighbors with cookies….

What if you could indulge and not feel like s**t??? Have your h***h and drink it too with these legendary hacks:

ACTIVATED CHARCOAL! Take this after you’ve been drinking alcohol. The toxicity gets absorbed by the charcoal and can help you not feel a hangover. I can also be used as a tool to sober you up if you. Charcoal absorbs and expels, so do not take it within 30 mins of medication or other herbs you are taking to support your system. It can be known to constipate you, so be sure to drink lots of water.

Take liver cleansing herbs. This works SO WELL. You can take these before a party, at the end of the night, and/or in the morning after drinking. Some liver supporting herbs are milk thistle, dandelion root and turmeric. There are multivitamin complexes targeted for partying - I love the product Liver Rescue by Health Force.

Hey everybody!
Just wanted to say that I love you. I wish you all the confidence and joy that comes with feeling strong in your body and moving well.

It's been an amazing experience these last few months figuring out how to use my workout video platform and finding the best rhythm for classes and content. I am blown away by how good my body feels, specifically my knees, doing 20 min workouts three times a week. Focusing on those foundational core workouts in COREtober, then the glute focused workouts in NovemBUTT, has given me the strength I needed to dive into high intensity cardio workouts for Very Cardio Fitmass without knee pain!!!!!!

I am hiking with the dogs most days, and usually on the downhill, my knees become very stiff, sore and slow. I’m used to it. I roll out, take an epson salt bath, and I feel improved strength by morning. But this month, the pain is GONE. The stiffness is nominal and my recovery time is short. I attribute that 100% to the core to glute to HIIT progression, and a couple weeks of keto.
I can’t recommend this workout series enough. If you have fallen off your workout consistency, start with the short core workouts, then move onto the the short glute focused ones. Another great progression would be to do these three weekly, eg, Monday - core, Wednesday - glute, Friday - HIIT.
