How many of you are introverts or have been on a team with introverts? In this great TedTalk by Susan Cain, she teaches us that 50% of the population are introverted but we, as a society, still reward extroverts and believe that they are better leaders, more confident, and have better ideas. In doing so, we end up missing all the great, well-thought-out ideas that the introverts have to offer! As leaders, we need to do our best to include everyone and not miss out on the talent that is staring us in the face.
