I share this as a point of reference
for folks in the Midwest who may have recently seen an audition request for
a non-union Target commercial
offering actors
$500/10 hour day
plus $1000 for usage IF speaking
Or $750 if non-speaking
(“Usage” language ends there)

In 2010 I shot this Target/Apple spot in LA
-union
-no dialogue
-conflicts with snack brands, allergy medicine, gum/mints/dental health, and hair care, so they bumped up the initial session fees to compensate
-national broadcast for 13 weeks

Session fee was $3109.06 for 3 8hr work days
In the end, with residuals, I made $9110.81

14 years ago!
And while I think Jennifer DeFillipo and I are friggin adorable, I don’t see us doing anything remarkable, or at least that couldn’t have been done with a union contract in MN.
