Bicycle Kitchen/La Bicicocina

Big shout out to Bicycle Kitchen/La Bicicocina for selling us a truckload of assembled, ready to ride bicycles.

We appreciate the love and help while we rebuild and restructure. Your extended family at The Bike Oven thanks you!
But wait!
There's more!

Yesterday, The Bike Oven got a fresh coat of paint, inside and out. Paint was donated by Bicycle Kitchen/La Bicicocina. Thank you for the paint guys & gals, we appreciate your support and generosity. Ain't it amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!

Speaking of generosity, The Bike Oven is in need of donations, in the monetary sense. Our goal, via your donations, is to secure this space for up to 2 years, when goal is met.

Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated. Donations made will go toward rental cost of this beautiful space. Please follow the link provided below to make a donation. Thank you in advance. 💗

Bike Kitchen LA is super. Needed some props for a local production and Gabriel gave me everything I needed. This is a great group of people who give their time and an owner who offers his space to folks who want to help the planet or just enjoy a simple bike ride.

I wish Bike Kitchen could find a space in Pasadena - we have lots of bike enthusiasts here who would really support it!
Thrilled to announce that we've awarded 31 Community Streets Mini-Grants! The funding for these projects will help our region build resiliency and increase #TrafficSafety, particularly for those walking and biking!

Bike! TIJUANA 2019

🖋By the way, la maravillosa ilustración es de Jimena Ortiz

📢We are happy to announce that we are going to Bike! Bike! TIJUANA 2019

🌵This year we had proposed a workshop named "The road towards a feminist public space"

An analysis of the media's treatment of situations of sexual abuse, assaults and aggression against women and girls of Argentina and Latin America. Those who chose the bicycle as a means of transportation could end up seeing a triple the violence against those who dared to go beyond the “Restricted Entry Zones”: physical violence, media violence and state violence, the latter, for avoiding an auto and androcentric urban construction planning; from the mass media, for blaming directly and indirectly the victims for leaving home, as well as, trying to indoctrinate the people by telling them where they are allowed to ride, what time, which mode of transportation to take, in other words, how to inhabit the city.

We invite you to problematize toxic hetero cis male behavior, considering that getting out of the “private space” causes a negative effect on male subjects.

We will share the Las Bicibles`s strategies, a Feminist cycling and urban punk organization, from the north of Argentina and we hope to learn about your own strategies.

Please consider connecting with LACBC, Bike Oven or Bikerowave to support another co-op with your donation.

We hope to get more bikes to riders in need soon and will update again when we have capacity for more again. We appreciate your support!

"Slow Streets" give pedestrians more room

We're fully in support of Slow Streets, and even increasing awareness of signage for it, as it helps neighborhoods slow traffic in favor of family strolls, safe distancing in the sidewalks and streets, and healthy exercise for all. Breaking News, Local News, National News

We've added more open hours to our weekly shift schedule. We still have Monday nights virtually via Zoom for questions and repairs, but now Wednesday and Friday nights are open as well as Saturday afternoon.
