Many people think a coach is only impressed by perfect technique, flawless rhythm, or insane flexibility. But the real work begins long before the first beat drops.
Here are 3 things we look for before the practice even starts:
1️⃣ How you enter the studio.
Your attitude is visible from the doorway. Do you walk in focused and ready to work, or do you rush in at the last second, distracting everyone else? Respect for the process begins before you even step on your spot.
2️⃣ Your focus during the basic warm-up.
Some dancers do the basics at half-effort, waiting for the "fun" choreography. But the basics are your foundation. If you cannot focus on the simple, repetitive movements, you will never get the most out of the advanced material. True discipline is built on routine.
3️⃣ How you react to your first mistake.
Absolutely everyone makes mistakes. The question is what happens next. Do you give up, get mad, and check out mentally? Or do you immediately pull yourself together and try again? Your reaction is the ultimate indicator of your character.
We do not just teach choreography. We build the right mindset, because that is exactly what separates an amateur from a strong dancer.
