I recorded a conversation recently on the Finding Harmony podcast.
It went places I didnât expect.
We talked about how I found Ashtanga, why I stayed, and whatâs changed for me over the last few years.

I come to the beach a lot.
Putting my feet in the sand and listening to the ocean resets me in a way almost nothing else does.
Itâs simple, but it works.
And I try to make space for it every week.
The work I do asks a lot of presence and attention. Being near the water helps me stay connected to that.
Iâm curiousâŠ
What do you do for self-care?

I havenât sent a reminder in a while, so here it is.
I teach yoga every day.
Live classes on Zoom.
An on-demand library.
Private sessions if you want more personalized support.
If youâre new, your first class is free.
If youâve practiced with me before and drifted away, youâre always welcome back.
I care about how people age.
I care about strength, breath, and people feeling seen in their practice.

In a time where so much feels heavy⊠I stood in a stadium and felt completely alive.
There is grief. There is horror.
And somehow â there is also more access to ART, beauty, and raw human expression than ever before.
I saw the Mayhem Ball TWICE this week.
Two different vantage points.
And wow⊠am I GRATEFUL.
Grateful because Lady Gaga bares it all.
Her joy. Her fear. Her drama. Her extraordinary musicality.
She sings openly about fame and celebrity â the seduction of it, the distortion of it, the loneliness and horror inside it. And then she stands there, fully human, letting us see both the cost and the beauty.
Three hours on stage.
Grand sets. Incredible dancers. The whole shebang.
Until the final bow you can FEEL her heart.
The show is a nightmare and a pleasure palace all at once. Super real. Deeply human.
And near the end â just her, a piano, and that voice.
Raw. Unfiltered. Filling an entire stadium.
She was also filming the concert for a future project. Some people complained.
It didnât impact me at all.
If anything, it felt special to know the energy in that room would live on.
Iâm sharing longer clips here because the experience felt too beautiful to keep to myself. For anyone who didnât get to see it â or didnât have it cross their feed â I wanted it out there. It deserves to be seen.
What struck me most was GENEROSITY.
She didnât need to do that many songs.
She didnât need to stay for nearly three hours.
That show looked physically and energetically intense.
But she gave. Fully.
It made me reflect on my own relationship to generosity.
There were times in my life I felt more open, more expansive.
Time has tightened me a bit. Security shifts you.
And yet â generosity isnât about quantity.
Itâs about giving what you truly can.
This is what she can give.
And she gives it with her whole heart.

I am guilty of making this video far too long.
This is a bit of my share about marching in the streets yesterday with some friends and a bunch of 18 year olds. It was a really incredible experience.
The crowd out there was DIVERSE but I was struck by the youth. A LOT of high schoolers marching today.
We didnt see ANY police virtually all day. We felt safe, it was very calm, warm friendly and PEACEFUL.
And, it felt big⊠I was excited to find out how many people were in the March and disappointed not to see it covered very well in the news.
I took a lot of pictures - more than I posted - of signs. I went live 3 times today and you can see those reels, below this as well (on my IG)
I will be back to teaching on Sunday at 9AM and my hope is that we move forward with purpose, with grounding and awareness.
Navasana.
5 rounds.
5 breaths each.
Lift in between.
And if youâre doing it the way Iâve been teaching it latelyâŠ
đ„đ„đ„
Youâre gonna feel it.
This is how we build core strength that actually matters â not just for show, but to stay strong, safe, and uninjured.
If your abs are screaming, youâre doing it right. đđŁđ„
I teach this every damn day.
And I feel it every damn time. đ§ââïžđȘđ„
Weâre witnessing more violence than our bodies were built to hold.
Itâs not normal to absorb this much pain â even from a distance.
And yet, here we are.
If youâre able to care for your nervous system right now, do it.
Not to escape, but to stay connected.
So you can be the one who steadies the ground when others are shaken.
Youâre not just learning poses.
Youâre inviting someone to witness you.
Ashtanga is a conversation â with your breath, your body, your life.
And your teacher?
They should be listening.
You deserve to feel safe.
You deserve to feel seen.
đŹ Winter Practice Club begins Feb 7
Letâs start that conversation.
âMarichyasana B â Breaking the Pose Openâ
This is Marichyasana B from the Primary Series â
but not the version you usually see on Instagram.
Iâm breaking it down into three parts. Because not everyone can (or should) do lotus, fold, and bind all at once.
Teaching isnât about pushing people into a shape.
Itâs about helping them find their entry point â and giving them a reason to keep showing up.
Ashtanga yoga is a conversation:
Between your breath, your body, and someone whoâs actually watching with care.
The full pose will come.
And one day â it might leave.
Either way⊠it doesnât even matter. Just breathe.
