“There was a lot of things said… soul searching. Like, who do we want to be?” And who DO the Knicks want to be? “We want to win.”

I asked the great Pat Riley for his definition of success so that I could share it with the class of 2026. He said: “there is no one way to success. Success is the way.”

He’s right: there’s no one road to success. Success is not a destination out there waiting for you. It’s every step you take that moves you in the right direction. And when the roadmap is imperfect, trust your inner compass. 🧭💜

“The goal in life is not to avoid failure, it’s to become someone that failure cannot shrink.” 💜

When I was asked to be the commencement speaker at my Alma Mater, I felt a lot of pressure in trying to think of what I wanted to say to the class of 2026. I asked one of the graduates what the students wanted to hear from me and she said, “Will I have a job” and “Will I be okay?” What I’ve seen time and time again is that people who are willing to show up, put in the work and walk through the open door even if it is not the one they envisioned, eventually find their way. The class of 2026 is already well on their way.

Thank you, Dr. Kelly, for inviting me back to the Bluff and congratulations, Pilots!!
