Looking specifically for a family with a sassy 7-9 year old child.

If selected, candidates will be asked to participate in an activity on August 11th in Los Angeles. Activities include dance, yoga, pilates, meditation, massage, Tai Chi, or a nutrition class.

Will you downward dog today?

As you grow your practice, your comfortability with downward dog will also grow! Eventually, dogward dog becomes a resting pose to help you reconnect with your breath during an active yoga practice. We love downward dog because it is a full body strengthener, stretcher, and stimulates blood circulation!

Let’s talk about core. And no we don’t mean your close friends!

The core consists of the abdomen muscles, hips, spine, and back muscles making up the center of the body. Here are three reasons why a strong core is so important to overall health:

• Good posture: a strong core promotes good posture, leading to less slouching, deeper breathing, and the ability to stand or sit for longer periods of time.
• Balance and stability: the ability to move, walk, run, turn, bend, and so on comes from the core.
• Everyday activities: this is anything from doing laundry, to tying your shoes, the core is to thank for that.

About the Studio

Just east of Hollywood, Larchmont Village has as a casual feel to it, the main street lively with foot traffic. Smack in the middle of the bustle sits Center for Yoga, a peaceful, homey studio steeped in history. Originally founded in 1967 by Ganga White (of White Lotus fame), Center for Yoga was the first yoga studio to open in Los Angeles. Maty Ezraty, one of the original YogaWorks founders, worked as a manager at the Center before moving on to open her own studio on Montana Ave.

Spanning two floors, this charming space has three yoga rooms including a rope wall and a giant main room with high ceilings and a life size Buddha. True to its classical yoga roots, our studio attracts many devoted longtime students from the Los Angeles area for advanced Mysore style Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow Classes. Beginners also have a wide variety of Level 1 classes to choose from, like YogaWorks signature and Iyengar.
