Mr. Cooke holds a 5th degree black belt in karate, is a 5-time World Martial Arts Grand Champion and was named Competitor of the Year in 1983, 1985 and 1986. Inside Kung Fu magazine inducted him into their hall of fame and ranked him #7 of the “Top 30 Masters of the Last 30 Years”. Black Belt Magazine named him in the top 100 “Most Influential Martial Artists of the Last Century” and inducted him

I’m always teaching classes so it’s really important that I make time for my own practice. My wife Justine caught me practicing the rear leg round kick. I noticed I dropped my cover on 3 of them and I don’t like that. Covering is utterly important. I work on not moving my head towards the target. I send my hips. I love doing slow chin ups. After my morning classes I take some time to do 8 chin-ups with a full arm extension. I try to keep my body completely vertical and let my spine get long. In a slow chin up, your creating very little momentum so you are subject to the full gravitational pull for the entire repetition.
