Sam Page on the Moment that Launched his PT Career

He is an acclaimed Los Angeles fitness coach celebrating his 15th year as a trainer in the City of Angels, and was named “One of the 5 Best Personal Trainers in Los Angeles." Now one of the most sought after personal trainers in Hollywood via Gold’s Gym, he is no stranger to hard work. Before joining Gold’s Gym in 2016, Sam’s chain of branded fitness studios quickly expanded to 3 locations around the city: Hollywood, Glendale and downtown LA.

His clientele includes celebrities, musicians and top Hollywood entertainment industry executives who rely on “Coach Sam” for motivation to stay in peak condition — in body, mind and spirit.

"But it’s not just about celebrity fitness," Sam says. "All of my clients are real people, and they come from every walk of life. The one thing they have in common is a deep desire to change their lives."

Once a closeted, overweight teenager, he knows first hand the pressures of Los Angeles and the entertainment industry. As a 13-year-old, he started a chain of candy stores, "Sam's Candy Company" in Bountiful, Utah. "Unfortunately, I ate a lot of the profits," he jokes. At 22, upon moving to Los Angeles, he became one of the youngest magazine publishers in the U.S. as co-founder of "HERO: the Magazine for the Rest of Us.

Through all of this, though, Sam remained a bit stocky. "I remember one morning seeing my

reflection in the hallway mirror, and I said: "enough!' I trained and completed the California AIDSRide, a 570-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. That really began my course to transform my body, and my life." It was this personal experience that motivated Sam to begin a career in the Health and Fitness Industry.

As a fitness coach, his writing has been published in more than 26 newspapers, magazines and websites around the world, including USA Today, PASSPORT,, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Here Media. He’s provided deep collaboration & strategy for the X PRIZE Foundation, the African AIDSTrek, and Apple. Sam enjoys working with clients at Gold’s Gym Hollywood and manager of Fitness Services at Gold’s Gym North Hollywood, because of the chain’s serious attitude. He knows natural beauty and diversity of the Los Angeles landscape can be just as challenging as any gym routine, so he’s frequently leading hiking expeditions around Los Angeles. He holds a California license as a private Executive Protection Agent.
