GOD HATES THE CLEVELAND BROWNS

There was a time when this wasn't a statement, but a question. When it was just "The Fumble", "The Drive" and other such occurrences that caused the sports world to question God's temperament and possible dislike for the boys in brown and orange. Dislike has turns to disdain and question to certainty. With the Browns starting their 3rd QB in as many weeks in Cody Kessler, the Dawg Pound will be cheering on their 26th different quarterback since 1999. Kessler, a rookie, was a 3rd round draft pick out of USC with a ceiling that won't reach further than that of a C**t McCoy.

As if this wasn't proof enough of the all mighty's unyielding hatred for the Brownies, the team is also awaiting the return of the most explosive offensive weapon they've had since the great Jim Brown. Wide receiver, Josh Gordon, has spent the better part of the last 2 season suspended for having his head in the realm of his colon. With word just 2 days ago that Josh Gordon now also has an arrest warrant for failing to appear at a paternity test hearing, one would think, "Okay God. You've made your point perfectly clear".

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!

Now just yesterday, the Browns' stand out, and all around stud, rookie receiver, Corey Coleman apparently broke his hand in practice. Yikes.

Whether it's by burnt offering, slaughtering ALL the cattle of Ohio or offering up someone's first born, the Browns better make right with their Holy Father....or the Plagues of Egypt might make the sports page in good ole Cleveland.

How many times do I have to tell America? is a hype machine fueled by men who exist in the 80s.

Some folks wonder why I didn't include USC at Stanford in my big game pick em's. It's mainly because I don't see USC as a threat of any kind. Stanford rolls by 17 at home.

You guys remember what I told you???

1 other game to watch out for has to be Oregon at Nebraska. Nebraska is built on defense, Oregon isn't known for being physical and it's not easy to walk into the home of the Huskers and leave with a W.

I'm not willing to pull the trigger on the upset, but it's highly possible.

For those who haven't listened to our podcast, first off shame on you, here's my picks for the weekend. My sheet of integrity.

With a late score in the second half giving Louisville a 35-10 lead....that might be ball game. Jimbo needs to have the halftime adjustment of a lifetime.

SAINTLY GIVING

After cutting CJ Spiller this week, the Saints now have $40.4 million of dead money (money payed to players no longer on the roster). That number is 2nd only to the Browns ($28 million). Not exactly company you want to keep as an organization. Though giving millions to the unemployed is an act that one might deem saintly, it's not a great business model in the NFL.

The real question here is, can Mickey Loomis survive if the team misses the playoffs again? The team has seemingly been in steady decline in their personnel and lean too heavily on the no longer youthful, Drew Brees. If the Saints defense continues to look as dead as their salary cap numbers, look for owner Tom Benson to show Loomis the door.
