The first cup moistens my lips and throat.
The second shatters my loneliness.
The third causes the wrongs of life to fade gently from my recollection.
The fourth purifies my soul.
The fifth lifts me to the realms of the unwinking gods

Oiling your body each morning will improve circulation, keep the skin soft and free from wrinkles, and help you to feel fresh all day. Oil massage in the evening is also beneficial and it will induce sound sleep. Gentle, daily oil massage of the scalp can bring happiness as well as prevent headache, baldness, graying and receding hairline.

Global life is governed by soma, the moon; surya, the sun; and anila which is cosmic prana. The sun represents agni, without which life is not possible on the earth. Agni gives life, heat, strength and stamina. What is true for the outer agni, the sun, is also true for the inner agni, which is the solar plexus. This is the site of jathara agni, the mother of all agni in the body, which is also known as Bhagavan: the creator, sustainer, and transformer. Creation, sustenance, and transformation at the cellular, systemic, and organ levels are all governed by bodily agni. ~Vasant Lad

Meditation for Pitta Dosha - Pitta is sharp and penetrating and it is responsible for knowledge and understanding. Pitta types should follow a meditation of jñana yoga, which means enquiry, investigation, and discrimination between self and non-self. They should stick to the Self and deeply ask the question, “Who am I?,” letting this question penetrate like an arrow into the deepest layers of the heart. Do not seek an answer, but remain with this profound question. You have to discover the answer within your own heart. As you ask this, also enquire, “Who is questioning?” You will then realize that the questioner is the question. The moment you realize this, the question and questioner disappear, and what remains is a vast space of silence and bliss. ~Vasant Lad

Excerpt from the interview with Dr. Vasant Lad for the film:
The science of breathing
begins with awareness,
and ends with awareness. The finest bridge between body and mind: Breath is a bridge between the body and the mind. When trying to meditate it is extremely common to have tension in the muscles and noisy thoughts in the mind. The nervous system is the arbiter between the tense body and the noisy mind. One of the best ways to regulate that nervous system, and in turn the body and mind, is through the breath. This has been known by the Yogis for thousands of years, and has also come to be widely known in recent years by the modern medical and psychological community.
Tulsi(holy basil)
In India, the herb Tulsi also called holy basil (sometimes spelled "Tulasi") has been widely known for its health promoting and medicinal value for thousands of years. Commonly called sacred or holy basil, it is a principal herb of Ayurveda, the ancient traditional holistic health system of India. holy basil is known as "The Incomparable One", "The Mother Medicine of Nature", and "The Queen of Herbs".
Tulsi is rich in antioxidant and renowned for its restorative powers,Tulsi has several benefits:
-Relieves stress
-Bolsters immunity
-Enhaces stamina
-Provides support during cold season
-Promotes healthy metabolism
-A natural immuno-modulator
Fish Pose (Matsyasana)
Matsya, the Fish, was one of the incarnations of the Hindu God Vishnu. Vishnu assumed this form to save the world from the Flood. The Fish Pose or Matsyasana in Hindi, is the counterpose to the Shoulder Stand and must always be practiced after it. Having stretched the neck and upper spine in the Shoulder Stand, Plough or Bridge, you now compress them as you arch your back. Doing the Fish Pose also relieves the stiffness of your neck and shoulder muscles and corrects any tendency of having rounded shoulders. Holding this Yoga Pose exercises the chest, tones the nerves of the neck and back, and ensures that the thyroid and parathyroid glands obtain the maximum benefits from the Shoulder Stand. Performing the Fish Pose also expands the rib cage fully, increasing your lung capacity and aids in deep breathing. You should remain in this Yoga Posture for at least half the amount of time you spent in the Shoulder Stand in order to balance the stretch.
