Last strike was quite questionable, but he’s been trying pretty hard so I gave it to him. What do you think?
Double Play Twins
A place where I keep my twins, Liam & Lucas,
sport journey
We lost the game that day, but in the eye of a dad, my kids win big time that day. Keep this passion going kiddos
Sometimes, the life we are all looking for is just as simple as this
2 more days ‘til Championship game
5 months ago these boys still knew almost nothing about baseball, yet in 2 days they will have a chance of their first trophy. Let’s go guys!
Big Lesson Today
We barely escaped and won our last game in the playoff, but there were lots of mistakes and lessons to be learnt from. And this was one of them.
Lucas has found his rythm lately and was able to get in a few hits these last few games. On this play, he hit it nicely toward the center field, but he was
- jogging to see whether the CF caught the ball or not
- And as soon as he saw the ball entered the CF’s gloves, he immediately give up, turned around, and jogged back to the dug out
He never saw that the CF actually dropped it, and the play became a force play now (runner on 1B), thus had no idea why people were calling for him. But because he never reached 1B, the other team was able to complete the double play, ending the inning.
When he found out about what happened later on, he was crying.
Big lesson to learn today kiddo.
Always. Run. The. Base.
How can you not be…superstitious about baseball?🤷♂️
Just a-typical weekend for us (pun intended) 😄
First Strikeout
Taking the mound is never an easy task
Especially when it’s only been 5 months since he first touched the baseball ball
But he did yesterday
For the first time in his career
It was pretty rough
Lots of learning curve
Lots of balls and runs
But he did record his first strikeout
And the look on his face right after
My little, shy, and timid boy, is not so little any longer
So proud of you, Lucas!
First career Grand Slam
First AB in a playoff game ever
Bottom of the 1st
Down 1-3, runners on 2B and 3B
Our power hitter was intentionally walked
Bases loaded
And here comes Liam
No hesitation
And quietly deliver his first ever career inside-the-park grand slam
And to think he only knew about baseball 6 months ago
First held a baseball bat 5 months ago
Then sufferes a wrist fracture that kept him out of any sports activity, couldn’t practice with the team until March
He’s grown so so much
So proud of you Liam!
The twins just keep getting better. Total for today: 3H, 1BB, 2R, 2RBI for the 2 of them. Keep up the good work boys
