The spear drill - my favorite thing to do with hitters who push their body forward or can’t understand exploding “behind” the ball. Doing this will help with Balance, barrel slotting, still head, discipline. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Struggling trying to find out what a good prep step is? Make it as simple as possible. Because 1. It looks better 2. It feels better and 3. It’s easy to do 70000 times in a row.

If you struggle with infield. The first step is to slow down and stay relaxed. Be the one in charge of the groundball

Happy Easter. If you’re making errors… Present the glove earlier so you can make a easier decision to go pick it or adjust to a bad hop. You have to give yourself a chance by opening up that glove all the way early and adjust to where you want to catch the ball

Swing 1, 2, or 3?

Comment if you’d make it over the trees. Estimated distance 530ft

Wholesome moment at the GOAT field. And for those wondering what happens to the balls I hit 😂

Do you feel your body tense up when the ball is hit to you? If you want to ever feel great fielding you have to eliminate that tense up tight feeling in your body. Learn to almost play dead where you go limp when the ball is hit to you, so you can react as fast as possible instead of a tense constricting feeling that slows you down

You can’t flinch at contact or look away. You’ll always feel lucky when you do make contact!! See the ball hit the bat and don’t flinch away!!!

You hear the term “stay closed” but what that means is that when the ball is coming in you aren’t opening up too early with your hips or front shoulder. Usually you “fly open” or “pull off” because in your brain you’re thinking of hitting a bomb. Think about hitting a line drive through the oppo field gap to let your swing enter the zone early and deep. Then you are just reacting to inside pitches and catching them in a way better position on balance rather than opening up, on your front leg - off balance leading to end capping those pitches or missing them completely.

🧗‍♂️🪜Climb the ladder. Which pitch height do you prefer? 1,2, or 3? Personally I prefer a pitch lower in the zone because I’ve always had a swing that was designed to cover low pitches, felt like my hands would drop a little early. I do love when I can turn above the ball and rip a high pitch backside

Staying back and letting the ball get to you is one of the hardest things to do when hitting. You need to understand it’s more of a philosophical mental approach rather than a swing change. After you understand that hitting is about patience and chilling the hell out, you can then work to change the mechanics to make it easier to get into those great positions. Do not go chase the ball out front… let the ball come into your house and then hit it out front!
