Itâs Global Running Day and Iâm officially back in motion!
After months of healing from a broken pinky toe and still recovering from PRP injections for plantar fasciitis (yes, both!), I finally laced up for my first walk/run this past weekend.
And yesterday, I got in my second one đ
I wonât lie...
Itâs been humbling to rebuild my strength and endurance again, but Iâm also feeling hopeful and proud.
Iâve officially started my journey back to full-on running and it feels so damn good!
Iâm even planning to toe the start line at a race I signed up for a long time ago:
The Ascent in Lake Tahoe on June 20th:
â¨â°ď¸ 3 milesâ¨â°ď¸ 3,000 feet of elevation gainâ¨â°ď¸ From 6,000 to 9,000 feet
Itâs more of a hike than a run, which is exactly what I need right now.
Am I fully trained for it? No.
â¨Will I be fast? Also no.
â¨But Iâm showing up anyway. And thatâs what counts đŞ

First outdoor ride in 7 weeks⌠and I felt ALIVE again
Todayâs bike ride was exactly what I needed.
I took my beach cruiser out for a leisurely ride from my home in North Hollywood to Burbank and back⌠And wow, it felt amazing to be outside again!
This was my first weekend wearing closed-toed shoes in 7 weeks since breaking my pinky toe, and I wasnât about to waste it.
The sun was shining, the breeze was perfect, and the first half of the ride felt great. What I didnât realize? That I was cruising slightly downhill the whole way out. So guess what the way back was?
Yep⌠Uphill.
â¨Letâs just say my quads got more of a workout than expected. And Iâm not mad about it.
At one point I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for a train that just sat there blocking the road⌠So, I ditched it and rode a longer route home instead. Extra mileage for the win!
My watch didnât capture everything (I kept pausing it at lights and forgetting to restart), but Iâd guess I rode somewhere around 19â20 miles in about 2 hours.
â¨And the best part? I ended the day in the whirlpool bath to help with recovery.
Today was my first real outdoor adventure in a while⌠And it reminded me how much I missed the freedom of movement and sunshine on my skin.
Iâm so grateful for movement, healing, and a body thatâs finding its strength again.
Healing isnât always linear, but today felt like a big step forward.

Progress Isnât Always Loud
â¨Sometimes it looks like wheeling through your kitchen or crutching from the couch to the bathroomđ
Today is my first day not using a wheelchair or crutches after my PRP injections to finally heal my chronic plantar fasciitisđ
Itâs been a humbling journey of pain, patience, and problem-solving to figure out how to function solo while barely able to stand.
It hasnât been easy. But healing rarely is.
â¨And hereâs whatâs been incredible: People are resonating deeply with this message.
A friend even shared my quote, saying it was âspot on.â
â¨Because so many of us know what itâs like to feel stuck, sidelined, or unsure how to keep going when the road feels slow.
So if youâre in a season of quiet progress, please hear this:
âYou donât have to be âall inâ to move forward. You just have to startâright where you are.â

A little thumb-sucker is on the wayđĽš
Iâm excited to share a little personal joy with you today⌠My daughter is pregnant again, and Iâll be welcoming grand baby #5 this September!
We just saw the latest ultrasound photos, and one of them was absolutely adorable⌠This tiny baby was caught sucking their thumb, and you can even see the bones of their little fingers.
We donât know yet if itâs a boy or girl⌠They were curled up with their arms and legs crossed, keeping the surprise a little longer.
Being a grandma has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I couldnât be more excited to watch our family grow once again.
