Me at age 20. I always had a love for the camera. I had recently moved from my hometown of Seattle to Los Angeles, to become an actress.. 🔥

I had big dreams and the rest of my life in front of me.

Looking back at this photo of this beautiful and excited young woman, it breaks my heart to know that, for the next few decades, I allowed her to be diminished and put down by the men she chose to have relationships with.

They were not excited about her auditions, or when she booked a TV commercial. One man actually did his best to sabotage my chances to get booked on acting jobs.

Later in life, when I stepped into the magic that went all the way down into my bones… that was imprinted in my DNA, in my ancestry…. Well… that also intimidated the men in my life.
They thought I should be who THEY wanted me to be.

They wanted me to read the books they chose, they wanted me to love the religion they chose.

They wanted me to pray the way they chose.…

Oh, I tapped danced around it, attempting to plactate them whilst still attempting to live my dreams and stay in my magic, but the decades went by, and I became more and more broken down and humiliated.

My soul was beaten and battered, and now my physical vessel started to break down with illness and chronic pain.
A shift had to happen for my survival. 🙏

Through deep inner work and learning strong boundaries, I came up on the other side as a strong and powerful woman who does not stick around for controlling, cruel, or unconfident men.

Saturday November 19 th on Hollywood blvd ( Los Angeles).
I was there for the protest for Iranian Revolution 2022.
I had to take a picture of this colorful lady selling hotdogs on the sidewalk. Hollywood Boulevard has so many fun characters, styles, and personalities. Never dull. 🕺🏻
She reminded me to be myself in every moment. Flash my unique style and love myself.

Over the course of my life, I have been in many relationships… on this particular day, many many years ago, he & I were walking to the car after doing some errands. I was happily enjoying some ice cream.

The verbal abuse & insults that ensued out of the blue, were so severe that I emotionally broke down, and sat on this discarded sofa on the sidewalk.

But this was my pattern, I had always chosen men who diminished me. So, this was nothing new…

I asked him to snap a photo of me in that moment so I wouldn’t forget.

I didn’t want to forget the pain and anguish, the embarrassment and shame, so that hopefully when I looked at myself in that photo, a broken down, emotional mess, a woman that allowed herself to be insulted and abused, would finally choose another path.

I share this publicly because if there is a woman that sees this, and you are longing to become strong, secure, uplifted and unlimitless…. Know that it is possible!
