That's a wrap!
Lily went into Region looking for a 2nd chance at State.
She lost to Stella Farrow from Anderson in the 1st set 0-6. 2nd set looked hopeful with her first 2 points, but Stella bested her with a final score of 2-6.
Tough loss, but what a great finish!
Way to go, Lily!!

Lily Arwood is our District Runner-Up!
After the longest, hardest rally ever, Lily lost to Massingale from Central in both sets 3-6 & 2-6.
She will face off against Stella Farrow from Anderson County on Monday at 930am on Court 5 back in Athens for the Region Championship!

LILY ADVANCES!
6-2 in the first set against Meigs. Hard fought 6-7 tie break in the 2nd set as both players struggled with Injuries. After a short break and Several shot for shot returns, Lily won her 3rd set with a 9-7 tie Break.
She'll get another short break before the district's final match up against her old teammate Massingale from McMinn Central.

Even if she takes 2nd place at District Singles during the championship round today, she'll get a ticket to Region on Monday and a chance to make it to State!

Lily Arwood advances to District Semi Finals on Monday April 27!
After a tough start of 4-6 in the first set and a split win for the 2nd with 7-5, she had to win the 3rd set to seal her ticket to the next round at semifinals.
Then she hit a tie break at 9-9 and another...and another 5 tie breaks in a row.
3rd set sealed the deal with a 15-13 finish!
Coach always tells us to be the player who is willing to fight for 1 more point.
And...
SHE DID THAT!
