Cameron Hill LLC (Jocelyn A. Martin & John E. Martin) is a premier hunter/jumper operation located in central VA.
Cameron Hill (Jocelyn A. Martin and John E. Martin) is a full-service hunter-jumper business based in Louisa, Virginia. CH is a family-run enterprise (father and daughter) with a focus on the purchase, development, showing, and sales of quality show horses, as well as the coaching of riders both on the local and ‘A’ circuits. Jocelyn is one of the top riders on the 'A' circuit, having garnered numerous hunter championships up and down the east coast as well as qualifying and competing successfully at Devon, PNHS, WIHS and the National Horse Show several times over her junior and professional career. In addition to riding and training show horses, Jocelyn works with young horses, coaches clients, catch rides, and deals in sales. John had great success in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings throughout his junior riding career, as well as many wins on-the-line and in the saddle during his professional career. He has handed the reins over to Jocelyn and she handles all the riding responsibilities, while he continues to train horses and coach clients, and scout for talented hunter/jumper/equitation prospects both nationally and internationally. Cameron Hill is located in Green Springs, an unincorporated and historic community in Louisa, Virginia. Situated in the heart of Virginia hunt country, Cameron Hill boasts beautiful views of rolling pastures and protected land spotted with deer, foxes, eagles, and hawks. The farm is bordered on all sides with mature trees and shrubs and is set back on the property to provide complete privacy from neighbors and roads and highways. However, Cameron Hill is still centrally located with close access to Route 22, Route 15, Route 64, and is approximately 45 minutes from I-95 and an hour and half from both I-81 and I-66. The farm is minutes from Zion’s Crossroads and downtown Gordonsville where you can find quaint restaurants and antique shopping on Main St., and only 25-45 minutes from the Keswick, Pan Tops, and Charlottesville areas. The 51 acre farm includes a spacious center aisle 12 stall barn with wall to wall stall mats in each stall and a climate controlled office, lounge, tack room, and full bathroom. Additionally, all stalls are equipped with mounted basket fans designed specifically for agricultural use with completely closed motors with sealed ball bearings. There are 2 indoor wash racks with hot and cold water, a feed room with a custom built feed bin to separate and secure feed and supplements, a refrigerator and freezer, and ample trunk/storage space. The property has a flat 125’ x 240’ outdoor riding ring with all-weather sand footing. The property also features six large turnout paddocks, plenty of acreage to ride out, and parking for clients and visitors. Please message us with any questions! We are welcoming new clients!

Meet Churchill! This 2014 16.3+ grey gelding by John French’s champion derby winner, Crown Affair, is out of a very successful Abdullah mare. “Winston” is a super hunter type with a lovely scopey jump. He has a big rhythmical canter and a trot that will keep him very competitive in the hack. He is an attractive and kind horse that is comfortable to sit on and a pleasure to have in the barn. Best of all, he has a great brain and will not only be competitive in the professional divisions, but also be a winning Jr/AO horse! Eligible everything and ready to start the baby greens. Call or text Joce at 540.604.6748 to discuss price and additional details.

A beautiful day on the farm with an exceptional group of horses! Feeling very lucky to be healthy, happy, and safe on our private property with all our 4-legged friends right now. Thank you to all our owners and riders for your understanding and willingness to put health first. While we are all anxious about the future and eager to get back to the show ring, we need to weather this storm first and having a supportive CH crew behind us has made all the difference. LMCF Big3 Update
The Lexington Spring Festival
April 22nd thru May 3rd, 2020
at the Virginia Horse Center
Event Management Statement (3/18/20)
It is currently our intention to hold the competition, unless national, state, and/or local laws and requirements prohibit us from holding the competition or if we feel it is not safe for you or our staff. We are currently accepting stall reservations and have received many requests over the last 3 days. I would strongly encourage you to contact us with a tentative stall count if you're considering attending so that we have solid numbers to guide our decision making moving forward. We will accept paper entries at any time, and we will open up online entries on Monday March 30th thru horseshowsonline.com.
We will continually monitor the overall situation and make changes as necessary. We will notify you promptly if there is any change or cancelation of one or more of the competitions. Full refunds will be issued and NO late penalty fee's will be applied. As always, we will work with you during this uncertain time in our lives.
We are all eager to compete and support each other through this unknown and scary time. None of us like the prospect of going weeks or possibly even months without the ability to compete and/or make a living, but we all must be safe first and foremost. We also need to do our part to keep those we impact safe and healthy as well. We will NOT hold the competition if we feel it is not safe for all attendee's, staff, and the local community.
We will take the USEF and USHJA's guidelines and regulations into serious consideration as we move forward through their 30 day hiatus. As we get closer to the event we will let you know about any competition schedule changes based on the potential attendees and situation as it remains fluid.
We will take necessary precautions to mitigate risks, which will include asking potentially that only essential personnel attend the event. This may be limited to trainers, riders, grooms, and or other required personnel. We will be adjusting parties and social events as we get closer to the event, but most likely those will be scaled down accordingly.
We would also like to ask any riders interested in competing in the Grand Prix to contact me directly to discuss options for you and the competition with regards to those special classes.
I will be sending out updates as soon as I know any other change in our plans. I urge everyone to remain positive and do what authorities have asked. I am hopeful that most of us are doing so, and that may lead to an improved situation, and one in which we can bring our BIG3 family together again. The prize list is available online via the Big3 page, the VHC website, email, and we are mailing all trainers a hard copy this week. Please contact me if you need anything at all.
Be safe and healthy,
Andrew Ellis, Manager
