Good morning Str8 DawgZ. I hope everyone is having a great morning. Below be the information on all the games and times for the coming weekend.
Friday 6:45pm 6th grade Watterson Trail location. Please try to arrive no later than 6:15
Saturday, 9:30am Bluebird gym, J-Town. Please try to arrive by 9.
Also Saturday, 5th & 6th grade J-Town 5pm. Please try to arrive no later than 4:45.

My #1 shooter turns 12 today yall!!! Please wish RJ a happy birthday!!!!!

Just got this text. I know this is getting old, but this is the first time I’ve had to deal with something like this with them. However, practice is canceled for today. My apologies.

Good morning everyone!!!! Casey, Coach Daz, Coach Mace, Coach Carl, Jennifer, Moe ( Coach Daz’s Wife), and everyone else who came out to support these kids, from the bottom of my heart thank you all. Yesterday was awesome. I’m in the process of setting up more games so just keep your ears open. That said let me get to the announcements.

Also BIG SHOUT OUT TO Princeton on knocking down the game winning 3 in the 5th grade game!!!!! That was big time!!!

Practice:

Today we’ll have practice at the lighthouse gym from 6:30 to 8:30. All teams are to be in attendance. Also, since I’ve been having so many problems with the other Gym, we will no longer be using them. Our only practice day will be Mondays at the lighthouse from 6:30 to 8:30. However, on Thursday May 21, we will be adding Thursdays to our practice schedule. That time will also be from 6:30 to 8:30. In addition to that we will be adding a skills training day to the schedule. Time and location for that are still under discussion.

Games:

Third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade will not have games this Saturday at J-Town. This is due to the derby weekend. However, Sunday May 3rd, the sixth grade will start the Mid-America tournament. This game will be at 2 o’clock at the Waterson Trail location. In addition, the seventh and eighth grade team will have a game at J-Town. The time for this game will be 3:30. I will be posting the rosters for both games so that each parent knows where their kid will be reporting. Thanks for all your support!!!

White plays at 11am & Blue team will play at 5 Both games will be at J-Town.

I know that it can be extremely frustrating, and I apologize for that. However, it will be very rewarding watching your child become the basketball player that he’s striving to become.

That said, this Saturday’s games go as followed:

Good evening Str8 Dawg’s family!!! Tomorrow’s game information goes as follows: 6th Grade 7:45
The players in this game will be the same players that have been playing in the Mid America league. The address is 2401 Stanley Gault Parkway.

Good morning Str8 DawgZ family!!! As we all know by now, our J-Town league starts this weekend!! Before I post the rosters, I wanna take a minute to explain the process as well as the purpose.

The Process: My coaching Staff and I decided to go with a process that similar to the ones that their schools will use. Meaning we will use a varsity, junior varsity and freshman type of approach. Now, because of the way the J-Town league structures their teams, that will means that some kids may have to play down a level.

The Purpose: The reason we chose this method is because we have decided that development is the most important focus of our program. That said, we don’t want children just sitting in the bench and not playing. As we don’t believe that you can properly develop into a good basketball player just sitting on the bench.
This means that some fifth graders will be playing on the third and fourth grade team. This will ensure that they will get developed properly, while playing more minutes. Also, the third and fourth grade team are short a few players and I needed to fill out that roster.
Also, some kids will play on multiple teams. This too ensures that kids are developing at a good pace. This is also why I scheduled games on my own. This way the kids are getting plenty of reps, thus maximizing their development.

The Teams: The teams will be named Str8 DawgZ, black, Str8 DawgZ blue, and Str8 DawgZ white. Str8 DawgZ black’s games will be on Sundays, while Str8, DawgZ blue and Str8 DawgZ white’s games will be on Saturdays. If you have any questions please reach out.

P.S. If you don’t see your child’s name on any of the rosters please contact me as soon as possible.

Good morning Str8 DawgZ family!!! Please read carefully as I’m about to explain the upcoming events. In case you didn’t know, the J-Town league starts this Saturday. I will post the schedules shortly.

Practice:

Practice for Middle School is today at the Lighthouse Academy time is from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Elementary School practice has been moved to Tuesday for this week, because the Church will be using the gym on Wednesday. The time is Fromm 5:30 pm until 7.

Also I’m planning to have games for all grades on April 26th. I will be relaying more details on that as the date gets closer.

Fees:

Please if you haven’t already paid your fee please do so by Thursday April 16th. Failure to do so may result in your child not being able to play on Saturday.
