We fell just short of making it to Saturday despite 13 hits in the Sparkler elimination game last night (ended at 10pm) but the heart and fight this team showed this week proved that we’re on the right path.
Playing on a field with fireworks going off all around us was pretty cool especially as our players stayed focused. We showed a lot of grit and discipline and learned how much the next level is really just about the little things adding up rather than a few big things.
Those are lessons that fall empty on a whiteboard but when felt and experienced on the field become game changing.
Next up: Perfect Game State Championships at Barnes in Loveland.

When I hit an unreachable ball down the 3B line, or through a gap, I tell my players "My job is to break you, to make you uncomfortable, to find and challenge your flaws and I do that in a safe space so that when you are out in a competition, or in the world where maybe it is not safe, you can not only survive, but you can adapt your strategy, your position, and THRIVE." That is my view on coaching. I am not a good fit for those that want to be comfortable and stay where they are. Being successful in life is about adapting. Get used to it now and you will succeed in anything.
