Husbands and birth doulas work together to give you the best support possible. It is my goal to give him the tools he needs to support you during birth and postpartum.

What are some things your husband does right now that you find comforting?

Yesterday, I was blessed to observe Heartbeat Midwifery's Birth class. It was taught by these two incredible ladies. Kelly on the left is a student midwife at Heartbeat.Illeastha Adams ( NurturingDove Doula Care ) on the right is also a Birth/Postpartum Doula along with Childbirth Educator. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job. Heartbeat does an amazing job of educating their clients prenatally about birth.

Sometimes, we can become so focused on what our doctors or midwives are doing for us that we forget what we can do for ourselves. You have the power to greatly impact your pregnancy and labor experience. A part of my job as a birth doula is to help you tap into that. Did you hear positive stories about birth before becoming pregnant?

Before becoming a birth doula and witnessing the beauty of birth for the first time, my only exposure to what labor would look like was through movies. Have you had any exposure to birth outside of t.v. or movies?

What I find most exciting about birth is that your body is made for it. I love sharing with mom's that the ways their body is preparing and already prepared to birth their beautiful baby. How each contraction even, and Braxton Hicks contractions have a purpose in bringing forth your baby.
