It was exciting to see so many athletes in the gym, showcase their skills, and give us a glimpse of where they are starting before we watch them grow throughout the season. We can't wait to see the progress each player makes over the next several weeks.

The Lubbock Basketball League is a draft-style league. Our goal is to create balanced teams where players of all skill levels can learn, compete, and develop together.

Before the season begins, we host a combine where players participate in drills and activities that allow coaches and league staff to evaluate skill levels, athleticism, and experience.

We use this information during our Snake Draft process to help distribute talent as evenly as possible. This helps prevent teams from becoming stacked and creates a better experience for everyone, from beginners just learning the game to more experienced players looking for competition.

The combine is highly encouraged, but it is not mandatory.

**If your athlete is unable to attend, they will still be placed on a team as long as registration and payment have been completed**

Every registered player makes a team. Our focus is on development, sportsmanship, community, and giving kids a positive basketball experience.

LBL is growing fast, and we truly need more volunteer coaches to help make this season possible. This summer will be a quick, fun season with 2 weekday games per week plus playoffs but more importantly, it’s another opportunity to invest in the next generation!

What makes this league special isn’t just who finished in 1st place it’s really the growth we watched happen week after week. These athletes competed hard and its fun to see the friendships that are made.

Thank you to every parent, volunteer coach, and athlete that helped make this season happen. The gyms were loud, competitive, and full of energy all season. That’s what youth sports should feel like. 👏
