Lufkin boys basketball played in the TABC Showcase in Duncanville this weekend. The Panthers finished 2-1, with two wins on Saturday, a 58-56 win over Boerne-Champion and 60-47 over Mansfield Summit. On Sunday they dropped a 60-53 decision to Garland Lakeview Centennial.

Lufkin Majors 11U rallied from down 2-1 with a three-run fifth inning to take a 4-3 win over College Station in its opening game of the Section I tournament in Tyler Saturday.

Lufkin will play the winner between Western Hill and Washington County at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Congratulations District Champs! All three Lufkin teams 10U, 11U and 12U advance to the Sectional Round in Bryan/College Station next week.

District champs! 🏆 Super proud of these Lufkin kids!

Lufkin Majors 11U won 3-0, they will open play in the sectional tournament against College Station at 5 p.m. Saturday in Bryan.

Lufkin Minors 10U won 5-1, they advances to the sectional tournament in Brenham and will face College Station at 7 p.m. Monday.

The Lady Pack competed at the TABC Showcase, they finished 1-2, learned a lot about themselves and what to do moving forward. Losing/replacing 9 varsity players is a tough task. This program is up for this new challenge.

Lufkin’s Minors, Majors 11U and Majors 12U have all worked their way to the championship round of the Eastern District 10 tournaments and are set to host games on Monday night at Morris Frank Park.

All three Lufkin teams are undefeated in the tournament and would have to lose twice to be eliminated.
