Malta Swim Team (MST) is seeking qualified applicants for a Head Swim Coach position. MST is a non-profit organization overseen by a member elected Board of Directors and has been serving the Malta community for over 50 years. MST has approximately 30 swimmers each year with athletes ranging from 5 to 18 years old and ability level from beginner to representing the team at the state swim meet. Malta Swim Team’s purpose is to help participants go as far as they wish in the sports of swimming while teaching discipline, hard work, goal orientation, sportsmanship, and fun.
Responsibilities Include:
● Provide training appropriate for swim team members to include but not limited to the following:
● Organize, instruct and supervise multiple practice groups from Monday to Friday
● Develop season and practice goals for all groups
● Develop and implement training programs and on deck instruction, as needed based on age and skill
level
● Develop and implement dryland programs for all groups
● Provide a stable, professional, and positive environment for all MST athletes
● Manage the meet calendar, entries, and results. Determine coach coverage at meets – attend
majority of meets personally
● Serve as liaison with the pool management and staff to determine availability and schedule pool
use
