International Senior Softball Association (ISSA)

I AM GOING TO DISNEY WORLD.....we'll close, heading to the Boombah Sports Complex for the ISSA Winter World Championships. This one will be the last for 2024 and I am at Dulles Airport getting ready to fly to this one.

The World's Best.....Is your senior team one of the top teams in the World in their Division? International teams from around the "globe" are encouraged to send the team to the WTOC.....yes we are looking for the World's Best. The entry form is on the ISSA Website and seniors are signing their team up now to compete in the WTOC for all the bragging rights. (Event will close soon when it reaches field capacity of about 220 teams.)

ATTENTION SENIOR SOFTBALL TEAMS - One of the sports real popular tournaments is the ISSA/WBSC World Tournament of Champions which is held each year in Jan/Feb in the Tampa Bay Region of Florida. The 2025 event will be held on January 28=February 2 and teams are now registering for the tournament. It is sure to reach capacity with over 200 teams playing and will close early. If your team plans on participating in this one you should enter and claim a spot at this time.

We are coming to the end of the 2024 Season for ISSA Senior Softball. Our three events starting in October will finish the year. Next week we will be holding the ISSA US Open National Championships at Myrtle Beach and our final tournament of the year will get underway on October 28 at Sanford, Florida, Thanks to all who have supported ISSA for the past 30 years..

The 2024 ISSA Senior Softball World Series will be played at a new location this year.....Johnson City, Tennessee on September 11-15. As of this post the event has 67 team entries.

PLAY ISSA.....especially in August when the 30th Annual ISSA World Championships will take place in Richmond, Virginia. Over 110 senior teams will be competing in this event this year.....The Best of the Best. Later in August the ISSA will be in Chattanooga, TN and Dalton, GA for the 2024 ISSA Pic-O-Dixie Senior Classic. Many of the senior players today had played in the origional Pic-O-Dixie Classic over 50 years ago when it was one of the favorite softball tournaments in the United States. Coming back to compete in the Senior Classic brings back old memories.

ISSA IN THE NEWS: JOHNSON CITY, TN - The 2024 ISSA Senior Softball World Series will be held September 11-15. The popular softball tournament destination all ready has sixty (60) senior teams entered in this year's event and expect more before it closes later this month. The current entries are coming from 13 different states.

Got Johnson City, TN on my mind. It is the destination for the 2024 ISSA Senior Softball World Series whch will be held on September 11-15. Johnson City is located in the mountains of eastern Tennessee near the Virginia border and was at one time the host of a favorite senior softball tournament. Some of the players on 75+ and 80+ teams may have played there in the 1995 SPA Nationals at Winged Deer Park. The City has since constructed four new fields with synthetic turf infields bringing to nine (9) the number of championship quality fields at the Park. The International Senior Softball Association (ISSA) has moved their World Series from Texas to Johnson City for 2024. The reception has been great, over 50 senior teams immediately signed up to play in the event. The ISSA is still taking entries so any team looking for a special event in September can sign up today.

The 2024 ISSA Smoky Mountain Senior Classic had over 200 teams. The event concluded on Sunday and here are team photos of some of the Division Champions (more champion pics as well as the Finalists can be found on the ISSA Website at www.seniorsoftball.org....the slide show has over 450 photos.)
